RLX Lacrosse started in January 2018 offering youth clinics at Sacred Heart CS in Rockwood, Ontario. Once summer came, we offered our very first summer camp at Rockmosa Park in Rockwood and in the fall continued with our youth clinics. We also started our RedBlacks travel teams in the fall of 2018 and have been running our clinics under our RLX name and our travel teams under our RedBlacks moniker. We had our very first RedBlacks box lacrosse team in the winter of 2019 and continued with all of our teams, clinics and camps right through the rest of the year.
2020 saw a very strong start for our club, with our RedBlacks box lacrosse team being successful in our American tournaments and our youth clinics going strong in the gym at Sacred Heart. However, once the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, we had to make a quick pivot from offering travel teams in the summer, to offering training programs for all age groups right through the summer. In the fall of 2020, we continued with our training, but also pioneered our first HYPE LAX League season, bringing a small-sided game to the families in our club to give some much needed competition.
